Urgency, Intention, and Inner Peace

I want it all

Is it possible to always feel a sense of urgency while maintaining inner peace?

This amazing question came from Gail. Gail- I really appreciate you taking the time to write and share with me and agreeing to let me share with the community.

Yes, it is possible! In fact, that is the ideal sense of urgency. Like Gail said “too much urgency can feel like a fire drill” I agree with that.

Balance and equilibrium vs urgency

Sure, urgency by itself can sure feel hectic . Our schedules are packed. There are only so many hours in the day. This sounds like added pressure. One can easily feel busy and overwhelmed. In this setting, it is impossible to be urgent all the time.

Lighten the Load

If we pair urgency with intention we start to put things into focus or perspective. There is so much noise coming at us on a daily basis. It is easy to feel busy and overwhelmed. Intention helps clarify what our purpose is. Our purpose and intention can help us filter through the stuff that congests our schedule and get us down to the essentials. It is helpful knowing what really needs to be done vs clutter that doesn’t contribute to the end goal Urgency and Intention lightens our load.

Personal Fulfillment

No matter what your definition of success is- it always includes an aspect of personal fulfillment. Having clear goals and actions that align with goals means progress. Progress get us closer to our dreams and goals. We like getting stuff done, right?

More

Still, I believe that we are each more capable of doing more. Giving yourself room to consider the possibilities is necessary. Surrounding yourself with others who believe in you is essential. Dreams anchored in purpose is closer to a calling.

Side Note

Always is a slipper slope. We all need rest. It is important to realize fatigue and restore. Staying ahead of fatigue and burn out is key, but that is another post.
