No Worries: Exchanging Fear and Anxiety for Peace
Everybody is going through something. There are a myriad of stressors to chose from. I do not want to diminish any of them as we are all surrounded by angst and unrest from a variety of sources.
If I look at my challenges or societies malfunctions, it is easy to be dismayed. I know that God has a plan and he can do “Immeasurably more than I can ask or imagine.”
I shared with you about my index card Deck of Promises in my last post. In trying times, I write God’s Promises on cards to be on standby throughout my day to counter whatever it is I am going through. This week I organized it into sections because my Deck is ever expanding. Today, I find it appropriate to share from my “no worries” pile
I like control. I do not expect anyone to say that they do not like control. I count productivity and risk mitigation as part of my strengths. I am learning to redefine what control looks like.
Stepping into my mom’s shoes to raise niece and nephew is a heart move. Heart moves often defy logic. This is no exception. There are so many variables outside of my control. I like to plan and take action, but I remain in day by day mode. At baseline, I plan for the future. Everyday I am praying the Lord’s prayer to “give me this day.” My plan is surrendering all to God.
Like your life, my life is far from being worry free. I have to consciously decide to give my questions, concerns, angst, and worry over to God. All of it. Big and small. I have to override my default is to start fixing and doing.
The maker of the heaven and earth wants a personal relationship with each of us. I find that profound and beautiful. God is love. We should lead with love in all circumstances. We have God’s promises to stand on.
