Catastrophe

Serial Disruption and catastrophic loss.  Nobody is immune.  All around, people’s lives are being up ended.  Heart disease, hurricanes, cancer, earthquakes, wildfires, and mass shootings.  Life forever altered. Only one thing is strong enough to survive- will.

With so many things out of our control, it is important to give attention to the things that we can control.  After much struggle with trying to influence uncontrollable things, I have finally come to this conclusion: the only thing we can truly control is self and most of that is in our head, literally.  Patience, persistence, resolve, and faith are the pillars of mental fortitude and win over the greatest of tragedies.

With Conscious Decisions, our Minds Win Every Time

Bad things happen.  Most are out of our immediate control.  Early on, projecting forward seems impossible.  It is hard to know how much time it takes to process the raw emotion.  The recovery time is different for each of us.  In time, there is a choice.  The bad stuff is terrible.  It is so terrible it can be consuming.  If we give the bad a large stronghold in our lives, it will never let go and it will erode into our self.  We could use it as an excuse or an explanation of why we cannot or could not, but we should not.

Our mind is bigger than our reality and there is no match for will.  Although difficult, we should be receptive to the potential for growth through the hardship.  We have to continue to live and do so with a renewed purpose.  Calamity has the tendency to point out the things that are truly important and it is up to us to appreciate each subsequent moment like we have never before.  The pain will shape us and fortify our character or slowly destroy us.  There is always a choice.  This is well within our control and we should exercise it.

Take Back Your Life

I believe there are two choices: life happens to us or we make life happen.  There is no in between.  Some people see problems, while others see solutions.  Despite our inability to control all things, at minimum, we are each capable of a positive outlook and remaining optimistic despite everything else.  This favorably effects other things exponentially.  Never give up
