Happy Mother’s Day!

To all of the mothers out there:

What beautiful and impactful work you do that has generational and eternal significance!

I honor the memory of my mom.  The impact of my mother continues to guide and impact me more and more despite her passing five years ago.  Perhaps it is because she was a mother to six children and I, stepping into the complexity of raising four, am only beginning to understand her life’s work.  Perhaps with time and wisdom I am maturing enough to have better understanding of life, in general.  Perhaps my spiritual walk is maturing enough to be able to appreciate some of her decisions and stands.  I believe each of these plays a part, but my spiritual growth is paramount!

In the wake of this understanding, I have had to forgive myself for challenging her with my limited perspective and it has given me grace to cover my children as they challenge me.  I am braving the emotional and spiritual storms of raising two preteens and two teens.  Before my feet step on the ground in the morning, I have centered myself in God’s word.  That is my constant in this ever changing world.

Sharing with you something I believe God spoke to me:

“They do not yet know how special they are. Changing the world is a far off distant concept for which they do not, currently, have a grid, but you do. You understand the mission, purpose, and the potential. You are just beginning to understand what is at stake.  Trust me. You are loved. I am right here. I promise. I know the plans I have for you.  I will  never let the righteous be shaken. Rejoice in me always.”

I poured out tears as God ministered to my spirit and I wrote it out.   Remembering well is an important part of our journeys.  This word is posted in my dining room where we spend a lot of time together.   Daily it brings me encouragement.  My children tease me for this word but I have been given grace for that, too.

Life is amazing. It can also get complicated. I'm going back to the basics and focusing in on what is truly important to me. I desire to be intentional with my life. I have learned and continue to learn so much about myself and this journey called life.

I am giving myself the time freedom to dream. I am sharing the joys and sorrows of my personal journey with the hopes that you find encouragement to live your life with BOLD FAITH, URGENCY, and INTENTION.
