Building Community
/Teams have always been a big part of my life. I was raised in a family of six children. Watching my older brother and sister excel in track sparked my competitive nature. Participating in travel soccer and volleyball fueled it. As a Division I scholar-athlete my mind and physical limits were expanded and together, with my team, we made history. I was stretched further as I studied and trained to become a physician assistant (PA). I provide health care teamed with a physician. I sought out the best to bring out the best in me.
Marriage was a monumental partnership. I married Antonio for many reasons. Ultimately, I deeply admired the respect with which Antonio spoke of marriage and his future wife. His words and vision matched how I wanted to show up as a wife and mother. The diagnosis of end stage lung cancer and his subsequent death lead me closer to God as I sought understanding. My continued work in emergency medicine as a physician assistant while raising two girls was by the grace of God. The profound peace that God gave me through that time continues to fuel me as I push forward with bold faith, urgency, and intention.
I believe that God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. Our physical world only tells part of the story. The fires that I continue to walk through are preparing me for the walk ahead. I know that God works everything together for my good because I love Him and I have surrendered my life to his purpose. I surrender to my divine purpose because of God’s outrageous expression of love for me. The challenges I have faced are not entirely unexpected. We live in a world of change and our physical bodies are mortal.
If I am still here on this earth, God has a plan and purpose for my life and each of our lives. God has placed it on my heart to dig deeper roots in community by sharing my story of God’s grace. Stepping into my late mother’s shoes to raise my niece and nephew in 2020 furthers this mission. Community begins at home. We are having outstanding conversations at home as we read and pray together. Together we will model community and friendship. It will be here that we will effect change of inordinate significance.
What does it mean to me to effect change? It means praying over, giving, and serving mankind in robust ways that will continue to impact others in positive and extraordinary ways in which one may never be personally recognized and God gets the glory.
We have opened an e-shop to serve our community’s everyday health and wellness needs. Supporting this endeavor is a comprehensive business team that is complete with phenomenal mentors/coaches that support my mission to build community by equipping me with tools to build relationships and partner with other business owners that are walking out their own stories of effecting world change. This has been a transformative experience for me.
If you want to be considered for the ultimate team experience and personal growth at the highest level, contact me for qualifications to be a part of our business team.
The last post I wrote was nearly two years ago. I have been grieving, slaying giants, raising champions, and growing in faith.
