The girl’s father bought them their first keyboard when they were toddlers and the girls have worn it out! They continued to express interest in piano over the years and were eager for instruction. I chose Florence Ahn to officially introduce my girls, Alivia and Audrey, to piano. She came highly recommended from a wonderful friend and neighbor. Florence is extremely kind, yet direct. She is serious about her music and the girls respect her knowledge of music and are receptive to her instruction.

The girls have missed their weekly meeting with her in person and we can’t wait until restrictions are lifted and social distancing is a thing of the past. Until then, we find ways to love each other while apart. We shared a Care box with her and she gave us rave reviews early on in our project that gave us much needed encouragement to continue our efforts. She then gifted numerous boxes forward to special friends and families in her community. In her generosity, she gave liberally and received so much more.

Recently, I spoke with Florence and she provided necessary encouragement at the right time. Her meaningful words and encouraging conversation find me at the perfect time. I asked her to share some of her beautiful sentiments in writing with hopes of further effecting change.

The pandemic has been a very isolating, anxious and unpredictable time for many families. Humans have the natural instinct to gather, share ideas, grow and learn together; however we have not been able to foster our emotional growth due to the COVID-19. It has been difficult to connect with others by sharing what makes us essentially human; the ability to change and touch lives by sharing our love and emotions. In the midst of all of the confusion and anxiety, Autumn reached out to me. I was blown away. In a time when human interaction is forbidden and when we cannot express our love to one another, I felt genuine care, concern and a sense of community. Autumn touched my life not only through text messages, but also by sending a hand-made package with practical products and a hand-written note. I felt courage and hope in a time where there seems to be no end in sight. I was so touched, because I knew that Autumn was also mourning the loss of her mom in the midst of this pandemic. I was convinced that something bigger than human strength was guiding and holding on to Autumn and her girls at this time. I felt the necessity to reach out to others and so I began making a list of others in my church community who I missed and wanted to reach out to. Autumn sent beautiful packages and they were all very impressed by the unique, beautiful and hand-made packages. She helped me touch the lives of others even when she was going through a loss and also going through the same personal struggles that we are all facing. The products were a big hit and I have only had positive feed-back! Autumn will help you touch others during this very difficult time! I appreciate Autumn and her girls so much
